Getting started with TeamOffDays
Add your locations. Type a country or city into the search box at the top. Common countries and major cities are built in, and any other city in the world can be found through the online search that appears below the built-in results. Select a result to add it. To remove a location, use the remove button on its row, or swipe the row to the left on a phone.
Read the list view. Each row shows the local time, the local date and a status badge. Open means it is a normal working hour (09:00-18:00 on a weekday), Lunch means 12:00-13:00, Off hours means outside working time, Weekend means the local weekend (Friday and Saturday in some countries, and China's official makeup working days are counted as workdays), and Holiday means a public holiday today. Rows are ordered so that the places that are open come first. If you have registered people, they appear in a People block at the top of the list, one row each, with the same layout: abbreviation and city on the first line, the full name below it in purple, then local time, status badge and a remove button.
Use the calendar view. The calendar highlights days that are public holidays in any of your locations (including your people's countries) and shows country codes on those days. Vacation days of registered people appear as purple chips with the person's abbreviation; hover a chip to see the full name. Tap or click the "+N" label on a crowded day to see the full list with holiday and vacation names. Weekends are shaded, and a legend above the calendar explains the colors.
Use the map view. The map shows each location as a dot colored by its current status, with a label that includes the local time. Registered people appear as diamond markers with a purple-outlined rounded label showing their 2-letter abbreviation, status and time; hover a label to see the full name. Drag to move around and use the zoom buttons or scroll wheel to zoom in.
Check upcoming holidays. The Upcoming Holidays list at the bottom shows the next holiday in each of your locations, with a countdown in days, so you can plan ahead. On the People tab the same list switches to the countries where your registered people live.
Register people. Open the People tab and click Add person. Enter the full name and a 2-letter abbreviation (letters A-Z; it is suggested automatically from the name and is what the map and calendar show), pick the person's city, then set the daily rhythm. Sleep and Lunch are on by default and Work hours are optional (on by default for new people). Click any date field to choose from a calendar dialog and any time field to choose from a 24-hour clock dialog; typing also works. For work hours that differ by day, press the By weekday button and set each day separately, or untick a day to mark it as a day off, and press Same every day to go back. You can add several vacation periods, each with an optional label, and a short note.
Understand the people statuses. Working means the person is inside the work hours you set. Available means no work hours were set, so the person is assumed reachable unless sleeping, at lunch or on vacation. Lunch and Sleeping follow the times you entered. Off hours means outside work hours. Weekend or Day off means the local weekend (or an unticked weekday), Holiday means a public holiday in their country, and Vacation means today falls inside a vacation period. The People tab also summarizes who is good to contact right now. Registered people appear in the List (at the top, where you can also remove them), on the Map and in the Calendar, and Export and Import let you back up the list and restore it on another device.
Watch for daylight saving badges. Starting 14 days before a daylight saving (summer time) change, and for 7 days after it, a small badge appears next to the city, for example "Clock −1h · in 5d". It means that city's clocks will move by that amount on the date shown, so the time difference between you and that city changes too. Hover over the badge to see the old and new gap. Because countries change on different dates, the gap can be different for a week or two, which is when meetings are most often missed. Cities without daylight saving, such as Seoul or Manila, never show a badge.
Share your status. Add yourself on the People tab, then click Share on your card. Choose whether to include vacation dates and your note, copy the link and send it to a friend. When they open it, they see a card with your current local time and status, calculated live from your schedule, and can add you to their own list. Nothing is stored on a server, so if your schedule changes, send an updated link.
Your list is remembered. The locations you add and your preferred start view are saved in your browser, so the board is ready the next time you open it. The data stays on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy below.
Remember the defaults. The app assumes working hours of 09:00-18:00 and lunch from 12:00 to 13:00 for every location. Real schedules vary, so use the status as a guide and confirm with your colleagues for important meetings.
